Door eenvoudig (enkele seconden) een vingers op de kleine elektrode op het horloge te houden, wordt de actuele hartslag bepaald.

De hartslag wordt dus alleen gemeten bij aanraking van de elektrode en niet constant en daardoor minder geschikt voor fietsen en hardlopen.
